BadCreditMD is a free, one-stop guide for people whose credit is not perfect. We explain the main kinds of loans people with bad credit look at, what each state allows, and where to find local offices, nonprofits and programs that can help, all in plain language. BadCreditMD is not a lender or broker and does not make loans or credit decisions. When you submit a request, a lending network partner shares it with third-party lenders, and those lenders or the partner may pay us a fee for each referral. The lenders decide whether to offer you a loan.

The loan types, topics, comparisons and resources on this site are handpicked by the BadCreditMD Editorial Team. We do not pick, vet or rank individual lenders, and lender profiles are for reference only.
Where our facts come from
Every fact about state law or a local resource links to the source we took it from (statutes, regulators, agencies and nonprofits, and, where noted, secondary legal sources), with the date we last checked it. Cost examples are labeled illustrative until lender rate sheets confirm them. Read how we research and review.
Requests
When you want to see offers, our request form lets you share your request with lenders through a lending network partner. Lenders set their own rates and terms and decide whether to lend.

The BadCreditMD editorial team reviews every page for accuracy against the cited statutes and regulator sources and updates it when the law changes. Pages carry the byline "Reviewed by the BadCreditMD Editorial Team" with the date of the latest review. We do not claim professional credentials for the team, and pages are credited to the team rather than to named individuals.
How we make money
Lenders or our lending network partner may pay us for each referral when the partner shares a request. There is no fee to you. Payment never changes what we publish about loan types, state rules or local help, and we do not rank lenders.
